Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of common pediatric illnesses, minor traumas, chronic conditions, and behavioral problems. Performs health histories, physical examinations, sports physicals, and makes referrals as appropriate. Order and interpret diagnostic laboratory and radiology tests, order and interpret age-appropriate screening tests, prescribe age-appropriate medications, and provide counseling and education of children and their families. Formulate a family-centered healthcare plan recognizing the child and family as active participants. Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of prescribed treatment plans. Follow established standards of practice within the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice. Additional duties may be assigned dependent on individual role.Experience Candidates should possess the following qualifications: Graduation from an accredited school for Nurse Practitioners. Experience in a clinic or ambulatory setting preferred. National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner preferred State licensure/board certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner. Prescriptive authority & DEA in the state of Oregon. Able to lift 30 pounds BLS Certification Stand out! Are you a provider adept at performing frenectomies, circumcisions, lactation support, medical ear piercing, body therapies, or cranial sacral therapy? Stand out! Are you a provider who is trauma-informed and has education in behavioral health?Personal Qualities Ability to function in a variety of roles such as healthcare provider, consultant and/or educator. Demonstrate practice consistent with professional standards, including State Board of Nursing regulations for advanced practice nurses. Maintain clinical competency through continuing education and modify practice consistent with current practice guidelines and clinical recommendations for primary healthcare of children. Assume accountability for professional actions, including incorporating risk management strategies into clinical practice.
