The Police Trainee participates in a Basic Law Enforcement Training Program approved by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.), in a non-sworn capacity.

Participates in and completes a prescribed law enforcement officer training program for entry level officers. A Police Officer Trainee who fails to successfully complete an academy in which he/she was enrolled will be terminated.
