About the job Electrical Engineering Professional Career Level Qualifications:Here is what you'll need:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar from an ABET-accredited university.Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering design of building electrical systems, including distribution to end use.Solid knowledge and application of the electrical requirements per NFPA 70, 70E, 72, 101, 110, building codes, energy codes, and other related standards such as IEEE and ASHRAE standardsAbility to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience.Solid knowledge in practice and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of electrical equipment and hardware.Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applications.Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specificationsField experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnelIdeally, you'll also have:EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.5 years' experience as a facility engineer.Working knowledge of Instrumentation & Controls design-related deliverables such as P&IDs, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, control narratives, etc.Experience with control panel design, including UL508A requirements.Proficient working knowledge of electrical modeling software such as SKM Power Tools (PTW), ETap, and EasyPower.Proficient working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit or BIM360Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsForward-thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideasAbility to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teamsPassionate about buildings and constructionOther Requirements:Location:This is an onsite position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Wilton, CT. RELOCATION AVAILABLE.Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours - nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference.Physical Requirements:The position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25lbs.Authorized to Work:Applicants must complete a background check and drug screen and be fully authorized to work for any client in the United States. The company will not sponsor or continue a visa for this position.Responsibilities:As a facilities electrical engineer, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our client's semiconductor-based manufacturing in Wilton, CT. You and other team members will work closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In this role you will collaborate with on-site personnel to support projects of varying size and complexity, including assessment of systems, consulting system owners, and analyzing scope requests from stakeholders.The successful candidate will be responsible for interacting with the client, contractors, and site personnel. Your job includes designing, developing, evaluating, and preparing recommendations with basis of design (BOD), scope of work (SOW) documents, in addition to design, construction and specifications documents through the positional (programming) process with a team.You'll oversee engineering and construction for the facility power distribution system work (up to 13.8 kV), grounding, lighting, emergency and standby generation systems, life safety systems, and fire alarm and detection systems.
