Apply today!Shift Evenings, 230 pm - 1100 pm, Monday - Friday.Unit Information The main VHC Health Operating Room Department currently has 19 operating room suites, adding one more OR suite soon. This team provides care to surgical patients of any age. As a level II trauma hospital, the main operating room performs cutting edge procedures in the following surgical specialties Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Spine, Orthopedics, Joint Replacement and Sports Medicine, General Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Breast Health and Reconstructive Plastics Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Robotics and Trauma Surgery. We have a collaborative relationship with the VHC Health Physician Group to provide the highest standard of care. Evaluates proposed procedural changes as they relate to patient care, directs / supervises the implementation and ensures compliance with Standards of Nursing Practice that promote optimum health care deliveryEducationBachelor's degree in nursing is required.Master's degree in nursing is preferred.ExperienceTwo years of healthcare/medical - nursing/patient care is required.Two years of demonstrated leadership ability is preferred.Certification/LicensureLicensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions is required.BLS certification is required.Registered Nurses on designated units are required to maintain certain certifications. New to practice area nurses or new graduates have 1 year to complete the specialty requirements below.ACLS ED, ICU, CVICU, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiopulmonary Rehab, Bronch Suite, Interventional Radiology, Radiology Safety Nurses, Step down Units (3A, 3B, 4B), 6A, 6B, 7A, Labor and Delivery, Hemodialysis, Respiratory Therapy, Float pool, GI Unit, and PACUPALS PACU Pediatric Nurses, EDNRP NICU, Mother Baby, Labor and DeliveryDe-escalation training BHU, EDPer policy ACLS or PALS cards stand as showing competence in BLS Skills per American Heart Association Guidelines. If an employee holds current ACLS or PALS certification, this meets the requirement for BLS in their job description. They do not need to also carry a separate BLS certification.Other QualificationsNeed to be a member in at least one professional organization.Pay & Benefits Commensurate with experience.
