As part of a team, this role will help ensure payroll and other related processes run smoothly and efficiently. The Specialist will assist in the preparation of weekly payroll processing with our third-party provider. This role will also respond to team member inquiries related to payroll and timekeeping. The Specialist must be able to multi-task and juggle competing priorities in our busy department. Specific duties may include:Payroll & Timekeeping ResponsibilitiesAct as liaison with payroll partner ensuring the timely processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls; serve as backup to Sr. Payroll SpecialistReview timecards prior to payroll processing to ensure accurate pay; import timecard informationRun weekly Workday reports in preparation for payroll processingReview computed wages and taxes to ensure the accuracy of earningsProcess timely manual payments as neededWork within the Workday and Tamigo timekeeping platformsCollaborate with the team to develop, improve, and document payroll and timekeeping processes to ensure compliance and operational efficiencyPartner with other locations to g ain a full understanding of local practices and business needs; build strong working relationshipsResearch and resolve payroll processing issues in a timely manner; proactively analyze root causes and recommend preventative solutionsAssist with payroll tax related issues, including researching and resolving tax agency notices HR Shared Services ResponsibilitiesRespond in a timely manner to team member questions via the internal ticketing system, email, etc.Possess a broad knowledge of payroll, timekeeping, and general payroll related topics to effectively address inquiries and provide guidanceDemonstrate initiative in researching and resolving new or complex inquiries What We're Looking ForCandidates possessing a bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. We are seeking an individual with 3+ years experience processing full cycle, multi-state payroll along with prior experience working with timekeeping systems (Workday).Candidates should demonstrate a strong customer service attitude, and exceptional attention to detail & commitment to accuracy. Other qualifications include:Full cycle, end to end payroll processingHands-on experience and demonstrated expertise in HCM systems, ADP Smart Compliance, ADP Enterprise (EV5 or EV6), ADP Reporting, WorkdayKnowledge and understanding of payroll laws, payroll tax, and wage garnishmentsProactive, hands-on approach with the ability to identify process improvements and efficiency opportunitiesAbility to manage multiple and/or changing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to communicate and work effectively with team members across the region - a professional, positive attitude is a mustProven experience handing sensitive and confidential informationFlexible, adaptable, and eager to learnProficiency in MS Office and a demonstrated technical aptitudeAbility to work standard 9:00 to 5:00 hours to ensure coverage for the regionFlexibility to work on-site in Downtown Chicago office, 1-2 times a week and/or as neededGeneral HR experience on topics such as benefits, retirement plans and best practices is a plusFPC and/or CPP certification preferred What We’ll ProvideLocated in the vibrant, sports-centric city of Chicago, this role is based at the Wilson global headquarters which sits along the lakefront with first-class access to a burgeoning creative, innovative, energetic and active professional community. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training.
