So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.As a Legal Counsel (IP & Product Strategy), you will serve as a strategic partner to our engineering and product teams, providing guidance on patent strategy and the end-to-end development lifecycle. You will be responsible for defining the product vision and multi-year roadmap, translating company priorities, customer needs, and field feedback into a clear product direction. Your role also involves negotiating IP-heavy commercial agreements and advising on open-source compliance to safeguard the company's proprietary technology. You will have the opportunity to communicate priorities to executive leadership and stakeholders to ensure seamless business alignment. You will also leverage market insights, using data and analytics to guide prioritization and to measure the success of our product initiatives. Ultimately, you will bridge the gap between complex legal frameworks and technical execution, ensuring our competitive advantage is both protected and enforceable.What You Will DoProduct Strategy Roadmap:Define and own product vision, strategy and multi-year roadmapAbility to translate company priorities, customer needs, and field feedback into clear product directionIdentify opportunities to differentiate and growth in the storage, data infrastructure, and cloud environmentsBusiness Alignment:Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service on positioning, enablement, and launch readinessEstablish a process for planning, prioritization, and executionCommunicate roadmap and priorities to executive leadership and stakeholdersExperience with product teams and delivering complex products at scaleMarket Insight:Monitor competitive overviews, industry trends, and emerging technologies to inform strategyEngage in IP review of customer contractsUse data and analytics to guide prioritization and to measure successWhat You Will BringJD from an ABA-accredited law school and admitted to a U.S. state bar organization for the jurisdiction where the candidate is working and in good standingDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience a plusRegistration before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office a plusOutstanding analytical and legal skills, including thorough knowledge of technical marketing, product certification and compliance, software including open-source, and general intellectual property lawStrong technical competency including the ability to understand software and hardware concepts and discuss fluently with product marketing, engineers, and developersExcellent project management and organization skills and ability to work to a deadlineComfortable and effective in presenting complex information to senior executives including Engineering / Marketing Management and Field GTM / Sales teamsSuperior interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to balance technical feasibility, customer value, and business impact#LI-ONSITE#LI-JL9Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location.
