Sr. Cloud Enterprise Architect (IAC)Location: Sacramento, CA 94203 (Hybrid)Education: Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Engineering, or related fieldJob SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Cloud Enterprise Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale cloud solutions. This role is critical in guiding cloud strategy from initial planning through deployment and post-go-live support for mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise across multiple public cloud platforms and a proven track record in regulated, secure environments.Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Strategy & ArchitectureLead the development of enterprise cloud strategies and high-level designs for scalable and highly available environments.Define architecture blueprints across IaaS, PaaS, and serverless models.Conduct market research and present at least three viable architecture options with data-driven recommendations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, storage, server) to align infrastructure decisions.Solution Design & EngineeringArchitect cloud networking (VPCs/VNets, subnets, routing, load balancing) and hybrid connectivity.Implement core services including compute, managed databases, storage, IAM, and key management.Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates and automation scripts for repeatable deployments.Security, Compliance & GovernanceEstablish cloud security architecture (firewalls, security groups, posture management).Ensure strict compliance with NIST, CJIS, and State of California requirements.Define governance policies and risk mitigation strategies.Operations & MigrationOptimization: Design monitoring, logging, and alerting systems; drive cost management and performance tuning.Resiliency: Develop data management strategies including backup and disaster recovery.Migration: Lead application and data migrations to cloud environments and support go-live activities.Leadership & DocumentationProvide technical mentorship and lead architecture reviews for stakeholders.Maintain high-quality architecture documentation and adhere to IT change management processes.Required QualificationsExperience: 13+ years in IT architecture, with at least 5+ years in a cloud leadership capacity.Platform Expertise: 10+ years of experience across at least two major public cloud platforms.Project History: Proven leadership of 3+ large-scale cloud projects.Technical Skills: 4+ years of hands-on IaC experience and 4+ years in cloud security and compliance.Certification: Expert-level cloud certification is required.Geography: Must currently reside in California (Sacramento area preferred).Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field.
