Practice Innovation ManagerCooley is seeking a Practice Innovation Manager to join the Innovation team.Position summary: As a leading technology law firm, Cooley is determined to become a leader in the digital practice of law. The Practice Innovation Manager is an execution-oriented role that will drive the rollout, adoption, and success of practice-facing technologies, ensuring that lawyers not only have the best tools-but actually use them to deliver exceptional client service. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Position responsibilities:Develop and run a structured, data-driven innovation adoption framework that consistently drives engagement, measurable value, and efficiency across practice groups.Plan, manage, and execute innovation pilots, product launches, and go-to-market rollouts, including communications, collateral creation, success metrics, and user feedback loopsPartner closely with legal tech vendors and internal teams to ensure tools are configured for our lawyers and clients' legal workflowsWork hand-in-hand with Strategy, Innovation Counsel, and other teams to incubate ideas and scale winning solutionsEvangelize new products and features through digital resources, short-form video, demos, office hours, and scalable training experiences.Communicate with lawyers the relevant practice-facing products available to them, and guide them to the most appropriate solutionDevelop compelling case studies and success stories to articulate ROI and adoption wins, partnering with marketing and communicationsServe as direct supervisor and mentor to direct reportsProvide day-to-day supervision of direct reports, ensure compliance with assigned work hours and monitor for compliance with all firm and department policies. Manage staffing coverage, review and process time logs/time off requestsSupport business professionals professional development and continued educational opportunitiesIn collaboration with immediate supervisor and CN HR, participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, termination and other employee lifecycle eventsAll other duties as assigned or requiredSkills & experience:Required:After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applicationsAbility to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required5+ years of directly applicable experience (e.g., legal service, product delivery, change management, customer success, adoption strategy execution). Senior candidates considered with 7+ years applicable experience in the field with 2+ years of exempt/management experience in relevant roles. Senior candidates will also have the ability to work more independently, demonstrate escalating ownership and mastery of assigned area.Success driving adoption of legal technology or analogous enterprise tools in a complex environmentAdvanced knowledge of the workflows and the core needs of practicing lawyersPreferred:Bachelor's degreeAdvanced degree in related disciplinesExperience with law firm enterprise and practice-specific technologies, including AI products, contract analysis tools, transaction management products and external research databasesSupervisory experienceCompetencies:Strong project execution skills: structured planning, communication, stakeholder alignment, and a bias toward actionRelentless focus on customer service and delighting users at scaleStrong interpersonal, leadership and analytical skillsExcellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiencesStrong prioritization, creative problem-solving, attention to detail and time management skillsFlexible and agile, ability to reprioritize with changes in the businessHigh initiative, accountability, and ownership mindset; thrives in a fast-moving environmentCooley offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package and is committed to fair and equitable employment practices.EOE.The expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $115,000 - $170,000. Senior level candidates may be considered for this position and would be eligible for a higher salary range based on experience. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.We offer a full range of elective benefits including medical, health savings account (with applicable medical plan), dental, vision, health and/or dependent care flexible spending accounts, pre-tax commuter benefits, life insurance, AD&D, long-term care coverage, backup care for children and/or adults and other parental support benefits.
