Entry Level Patient Care Coordinator

Job Description We are currently seeking a &#39;Front Desk - Patient Relations&#39; team member for our busy, outpatient physical therapy practice in Surprise, AZ At Vital Care PT we put patient care first and are looking for someone who has a strong interest in helping others and has a strong sense of community. Qualities that are important for this position include: a friendly, outgoing personality, ability to multitask, great organization skills, the ability to work well on a team. Job Duties:- Welcome patients as they arrive and inform providers of their arrival- Answer multi-line phones. Check voicemail within a timely manner.- Schedule Initial Evaluations and follow up appointments, review patient&#39;s insurance coverage and notify patient if treatment requires an authorization.- Assist patients with completing medical history, consent to treat and additional patient demographic paperwork.- Remind patients of their appointments.- Collect co-payments, co-insurances and account balances.- Explain financial requirements to patients in response to patient questions on billing and insurance matters. Refer complex insurance/benefits questions to billing specialist.- Evaluate patient&#39;s financial status and establish payment plans where applicable.- Accurately complete and interpret insurance verification and benefits. Notify patient of insurance coverage(s) and/or exclusions.- Management of our patient call log-Scan all new patient or updated patient information into computer.- Run weekly productivity reports as needed.- Maintain a clean front office and waiting room- Handling the sales process to help patients get fully signed up for care- Data Entry- Promoting Vital Care to Past patients, referring physicians and general public-Attend community informational workshops as needed. Job Skills:Outstanding Customer Service and communication skills.Ability to create and edit office programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher documents.Demonstrate compassion, empathy and concern for patients with good listening skills.Ability to speak with upset and/or frustrated patients while providing excellent customer service. Education:High school diploma or GED required Experience:Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office(Physical Therapy preferred).Knowledge of health insurance, workman&#39;s comp, motor vehicle accident casesKnowledge of Medical Terminology, HIPAA guidelines and OSHA safety regulations-Bilingual(Spanish speaking) a plusCandidate needs to have a pleasant demeanor, a positive forward-thinking outlook, the willingness and ability to work with others as a team member, great organization and multi-tasking skills and a desire to have a long term position with our company while growing with us. Most importantly you will need to have the willingness and ability to work hard. This is a part-time position that requires you to be able and willing to work Mon-Friday.
