General Ledger Accountant II

Job TitleCollects, analyzes, monitors, and reports on the organization's financial matters, managing and ensuring compliance with the organization's financial policies, internal controls, and professional standards and all laws. Responsible for general accounting, fixed assets, accounts payable and expense reimbursement and revenue accounting (including accounts receivable).Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for accurate and complete general accounting activities including preparing journal entries for monthly, quarterly, & annual close, review of title office P&L activity, detailed balance sheet reconciliations, and the investigation of variances or unusual trendsSupport financial statement preparation and internal management reportingUtilize strong organization skills to maintain accounting information and system integrity in accordance with standards and rules under GAAP & other regulating bodies and to support both internal and external audit requestsSolves moderately complex to complex problems and analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgement and precedents for continuous process improvement and automation initiativesExplains complex and/or sensitive information in a straightforward manner through excellent communication skillsActs as a resource for colleagues including collaborating with AP, AR, & FP&A teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and develop Excel models and reporting tools from concept to completionPerforms all other duties as assigned by managementEducationBachelor's degree in relevant field preferredExperienceA demonstrated proficiency in ExcelStrong understanding of US GAAP and month-end close processesTypically requires 2+ years of related work experienceStewart is committed to ensuring that its online application process provides an equal employment opportunity to all job seekers, including individuals with disabilities.
