JOB SUMMARYThe Budget Analyst provides analytical support for all accounting, financial analysis, and financial reporting requirements for the College. Assists in preparation of operational budgets for departments, and reviews expenditures to ensure conformance with budgetary provisions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWork with the assigned area and other budget authorities to reconcile annual budget. Monitor all college budgets for budgets exceeding allocated amounts. Analyze requisitions for accurate descriptions, extensions, totals, and verify funds availability. Responsible for reviewing operating budgets periodically in order to analyze trends affecting budget needs. Prepare monthly report of purchasing activities consisting of number of orders placed, total amount expended per month, and a breakdown of orders by Department. Check and verify invoices for payment. Interact with vendors and department personnel regarding orders, requisitions, and deliveries. Work with Accounts Payable Department to ensure timely processing of vendor payments. Analyze financial information and prepare reports to summarize current and projected financial position of the College. Enforce compliance with operational policies and procedures. Post budget adjustments within information management system. Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
