General purpose of the Job: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to the community; and engage in a lifetime of learning.ResponsibilitiesMaintain bi-weekly contact and meet monthly with assigned new hire(s)/mentees.Participate in district-wide mentor program meetings.Build a relationship with new hire mentees to create a sense of purpose and belonging within the district.Provide resources and support for identified issues within the building or program.Maintain contact with Lead MentorRequired QualificationsCrisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certified or completion within 1 yearAt least 2 years of experience as an ESPSkills IncludingRelating to the area in which the new hire mentee is assignedCommunicating effectively in verbal and written formatsUsing positive behavior intervention strategiesPromoting positive environmentsWorking in a flexible and adaptable mannerModeling the attributes of an efficacious learner: resourceful, self-directed, responsible, problem solver, and skilled communicatorKnowledge of best practices for new hiresResolving Conflict EffectivelyWorking with varying learning styles and needs, both academic and social-emotionalOrganizing and prioritizingDeveloping collaborative working relationshipsUsing computer software such as email, Microsoft Office, and Google DriveStipend: $1,200
