What You ll Do As a Veterinary Emergency Technician at MVA, you ll be on the front line of urgent patient care, working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will: Triage incoming patients by assessing their medical needs and prioritizing treatments based on urgency. Provide immediate critical care administer fluids, medications, and other life-saving interventions while closely monitoring patient status. Collaborate with emergency veterinarians and fellow technicians to devise and execute treatment plans for a variety of acute and complex cases. Communicate compassionately with pet parents, offering clear updates, reassurance, and empathy during stressful moments. Maintain a calm, organized workspace and ensure rapid access to the supplies and equipment needed for emergency interventions. Participate in ongoing training and case discussions, sharpening your skills and staying current with the latest emergency protocols and best practices. Anticipated Schedule This is a full-time position with the following 2 available schedules: Wednesday Saturday: 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM Please note that some holidays are required. What We re Looking For We re seeking Veterinary Emergency Technicians who can excel under pressure and find fulfillment in delivering critical care. You likely have: Experience in a fast-paced emergency or ICU setting, with a proven ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure. Strong clinical skills, including IV catheter placement, venipuncture, laboratory sample processing, and anesthesia. Effective communication for liaising with both clinical staff and concerned pet parents, especially in urgent or high-stress scenarios. Confidence in triage and rapid assessment, recognizing subtle changes in patient condition and acting decisively.
