Radiology Tech Location: Chapel Hill, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: - Duration: - Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: No prior experience required. License: ARRT Certified in Radiography. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. Must-Have: Accredited Associate's Degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program. Description: Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of all aspects of General Diagnostic Radiology. Is familiar with and adheres to departmental protocols and policies. Obtains RT(R) credentials and maintains active status. Uses technical knowledge and ability to assist in troubleshooting work unit problems concerning equipment and protocols. Enthusiastically shares knowledge with employees and students in the work unit. Ensures that patient demographic and examination requested are correct. Critiques, orients, and saves all pertinent images and transmits QA-ed images. Ensures that all images reach the appropriate system and documents completion and/or cancellation of all procedures. Maintains image management equipment and reports any equipment problems. Utilizes systems for obtaining additional study data. Performs work in a timely manner and produces quality radiographic images consistently. Analyzes requests and draws appropriate conclusions for examinations. Reviews radiographic orders and images, ensuring accuracy of information. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Documents incidents and advises the area supervisor of improvement opportunities. Uses various systems effectively to access information and document the status of procedures. Completes exams in the appropriate system and verifies that all information has arrived properly. Verifies patient identity and obtains patient history relevant to examination orders. Verifies pregnancy status before administering ionizing radiation. Assesses patients' physical conditions and develops action plans for examinations. Takes appropriate action if additional medical personnel or equipment are needed. Assists patients who require extra attention and reacts to emergency situations. Ensures patient safety.
