The Tax Manager will be a leader and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality income tax services for our diverse client base. The Manager is also responsible for overseeing the performance of staff and profitability of team. This individual will be responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives, evaluating and selecting actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations, while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. The Tax Manager should be comfortable with tax compliance on individual, corporate, partnership and trust returns.Essential Functions:Review complex corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns and planningConduct appropriate and applicable research regarding tax issues to ensure accuracy and implementation of specific tax law and provide guidance to clients and/or suggest alternativesAssist staff with correcting complex errors on tax formsManage daily client workflow and multiple client projects at any given timeForm 'Trusted Advisor' relationship with clients, primary specialty-area focusedHold meetings with clients to discuss strategy and recommendationsOversee delegation of work to staff to ensure non-productive time is minimized and excessive overtime mitigatedKeeps partners informed of all important developments on engagement, analyzes problems and recommends solutions.Works closely with Partners to satisfy the needs with planning compliance.Monitor project profitabilityMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or Master's degree in accounting or taxation or related fieldMinimum 8 year's accounting and tax experienceMust have CPA or EA; CPA preferredExperience with a variety of income tax filings; e.g., S-Corp, partnership, trust, individualAbility to meet time constraints and client deadlinesAbility to work heavy overtime from January to April 15 (may be in excess of 55 hours per week).
