Vice President, AccountingAmerican Mortgage Investment Partners Management, LLC | Finance & AccountingTitle: Vice President, AccountingDepartment: Finance & AccountingReports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)FLSA Status: ExemptWorks Closely With: Managing PartnersEmployment Type: Full-Time in Office/ConnecticutPOSITION SUMMARYThe Vice President, Accounting serves as a key financial leader within the management company, providing strategic oversight and hands-on execution across financial planning & analysis (FP&A), tax compliance and planning, and accounting operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with the Managing Partners, this individual plays a critical role in driving financial visibility, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance across the organization.This position requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and collaborative professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and can translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)•    Lead the annual budgeting and multi-year financial planning processes for the management company, coordinating inputs across all departments.•    Develop, maintain, and continuously improve financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.•    Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports to the CFO and senior leadership team.•    Work with Managing Partners to align financial plans with operational objectives, headcount planning, and capital allocation priorities.•    Provide ad hoc financial analysis and business case support for strategic initiatives, investments, and operational changes.•    Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.Tax Compliance & Planning•    Oversee all federal, state, and local tax compliance obligations for the management company, ensuring timely and accurate filings.•    Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors on complex tax matters, audits, and filings.•    Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s effective tax rate and minimize tax risk.•    Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations, assessing their impact on the company and communicating implications to leadership.•    Manage transfer pricing, intercompany arrangements, and related-party transaction documentation as applicable.•    Ensure proper tax provision calculations and disclosures in financial statements.Accounting Operations•    Direct all day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.•    Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.•    Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.•    Lead the coordination of annual financial audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.•    Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, continuously identifying opportunities to streamline and reduce cycle times.•    Manage the accounting team, providing mentorship, performance guidance, and professional development support.Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration•    Serve as a strategic financial partner to the CFO and COO, translating financial data into clear, actionable recommendations.•    Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments to support data integrity and cross-functional financial initiatives.•    Evaluate, implement, and optimize financial systems and technology solutions to enhance reporting capabilities and operational efficiency.•    Maintain a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance and accounting function.QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Certification•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree (MBA or MAcc) preferred.•    CPA designation strongly preferred.Experience•    Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership or management role.•    Proven experience in FP&A, tax compliance/planning, and accounting operations, ideally within a management company, financial services, or real estate environment.•    Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.•    Experience managing external auditor relationships and coordinating audit processes.Skills & Competencies•    Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.•    High proficiency in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., Business Central, NetSuite, SAP, or similar);
