Patterns Hiring is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in State College, Pennsylvania. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Travel Registered Nurse (RN) | 13-Week Contract | State College, PA | Day Shift We’re seeking a skilled and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment . This role is ideal for nurses who are confident in patient assessment, care planning, and clinical decision-making , and can thrive in a dynamic hospital environment. Assignment Details: Contract Length: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 hrs shifts 0645-1915, every other weekend Schedule: 3x12s Start Date: ASAP Key Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize care needs Develop and implement individualized care plans Administer treatments and monitor patient progress Accurately document care using EMR systems (EPIC preferred) Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes Educate patients and families on care plans and recovery Ensure compliance with clinical standards and safety protocols Core Clinical Expectations: Strong understanding of the nursing process (assessment → planning → implementation → evaluation) Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical standards Participate in quality improvement and patient care initiatives Requirements (Must-Have): Active RN License (state-specific or compact, as applicable) BLS Certification (HCP required) Recent acute care/hospital experience Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills Preferred: EPIC charting experience Prior travel experience Experience in specialty units (Med-Surg, ICU, ER, etc.) What We’re Looking For: Reliable and team-oriented professional Strong communication and patient advocacy skills Flexible and able to handle changing patient care needs Committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care Floating: May be required based on unit needs Scheduling: Must be flexible with shifts, weekends, and holidays Documentation: EMR experience required (EPIC strongly preferred) Compliance: Background check and drug screening required Patient Care Model: Team-based, collaborative environment Quality & Safety: Participation in quality improvement initiatives expected Work Environment: Fast-paced acute care setting About Patterns Hiring Patterns Inc. is a talent solutions and staffing organization supporting clients across healthcare and allied domains.
