This leadership role is pivotal in shaping the department's future through strategic growth, recruitment, and impactful outreach. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the department in all its missions, including clinical care, education, and research, and will be judged on their ability to expand clinical operations, secure funding for innovative research, and foster a culture that attracts and retains top dermatology faculty. The Chair will work closely with the School of Medicine and health system leadership to elevate the department's already strong foundation and will be central to the department's continued success and national prominence. Candidates for the Chair position must be renowned academic physicians with a proven leadership track record in an academic healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will be a skilled researcher with a history of securing funding and building talented research teams, and will possess the vision and business acumen necessary to lead the department strategically and culturally. The role requires a mentor who can attract, evaluate, and recruit the best talent in the field of dermatology. A strong background in clinical and academic missions, as well as an M.D. or equivalent degree, board certification in Dermatology, and eligibility for appointment to Associate Professor or Professor at the School of Medicine, are essential.
