Critical Care Registered Nurse | Macon, Georgia

Provide expert critical care nursing in a high-acuity Medical ICU setting located in Macon, GA. This 14-bed unit cares for seriously ill patients with diagnoses including respiratory failure, sepsis, renal failure, stroke, ARDS, and more. The role demands strong clinical skills in managing ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients requiring invasive monitoring and vasoactive medication management.Qualifications and Desired Experience:Minimum 2 years ICU nursing experienceRegistered Nurse licensure in the state of practiceCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CCRN preferredProficient in tracheostomy and chest tube care, PIV starts, insulin and heparin drips, vasoactive medication titrationSkilled in monitoring invasive lines (arterial, central venous, intracranial pressure) and ventilator managementExperience assisting with bedside procedures such as chest tube and PEG tube placementsResponsibilities:Deliver comprehensive nursing care for medical ICU patients with complex conditionsCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7Utilize advanced technology including EPIC EMR, Philips monitors, TABLO dialysis system, and PCA pain managementMaintain patient safety through vigilant assessment, timely interventions, and accurate documentationParticipate in a 6-week rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a), including weekends and holidays approximately 5-6 times per schedule cycleLocation Overview: Macon, GA offers a balanced lifestyle with vibrant cultural attractions, historic sites, and welcoming community events.
