They will be responsible for process research and development in Resins Coatings and Adhesives, primarily supporting the Consumer and Electronics market.RoleThis role:Addresses problems of technical complexityEngages with multifunctional teams on identifying challengesProposes innovative solutions accordinglyDevelops Dow Proprietary state-of-art technologies.In this role, you will require understanding of key business drivers for your discipline and function. You will need to be able to expand conceptual and working knowledge related to your discipline or functional area. You are expected to provide informal guidance to new team members and be able to explain complex information to others.It is your responsibility to use technical experience, established practices, and personal judgement to analyze and resolve straightforward problems. Your performance impacts the quality of your own work and your team's work and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.ResponsibilitiesDefines and conducts research on projects using advanced knowledge of scientific principles, theory, and experimental design within a scientific disciplineDevelops and implement technical solutions through hands-on experimentation/problem-solving for research problems that are well defined within a project areaConsistently applies the Scientific Method in the planning and execution of experimental plans and problem solvingFormulates hypotheses and develops experimental plans to test hypothesesLeads scale-up activities transitioning from lab scale through piloting and manufacturing scale to support commercialization of new products and process productivity improvementsKeeps current with developments in relevant area of technologyServes as a peer coach and provides constructive advice on projects within the teamProposes projects that align to business strategies and objectivesModifies communication appropriately to both internal and external audiencesDemonstrates a working knowledge of team alignment with R&D and Business goalsQualificationsA minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant. Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or science related field strongly preferred.A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in research and project managementA minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
