Operations Manager – Distribution CenterLocation: Near Twinsburg/Bedford HeightsDepartment: OperationsAbout the Company:We are a growing, fast-paced national organization operating a multi-site distribution network that supports customers across the U.S. The company is experiencing continued growth and expansion and places a strong emphasis on operational excellence, accountability, and safety.Position Summary:The Operations Manager is accountable for the daily execution, performance, and culture of a distribution center located near Twinsburg/Bedford Heights. This role sets the operational standard for the broader network by ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate execution across inbound, inventory, outbound, quality, and specialty shipping operations.This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong ownership, consistent follow-up, and the ability to address performance and behavioral issues directly. The Operations Manager is expected to drive results through people—not around them.Key Responsibilities:Operational ExecutionOwn daily performance across inbound receiving, putaway, inventory control, quality assurance, and outbound operations (picking, packing, shipping)Lead staffing plans, scheduling, and labor allocationMonitor workflow, capacity, and throughput across all functionsEnforce SOPs, policies, safety standards, and standard workActively manage operational exceptions and disruptionsLead continuous improvement initiativesDevelop team leaders and reinforce a culture of accountabilityPilot and test process improvements prior to broader rolloutManage operational spend including labor, supplies, packing materials, and facility-related costsLabor, Staffing & Cost ControlWorkforce planning, scheduling, and labor optimizationMonitor payroll vs. budget and take corrective action as neededTrack and control material usage vs. budgetIdentify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing service or safetyLeadership & CultureLead with a solutions-first mindset; challenges are expected to come with action plansTake ownership of results; avoid excuse-based thinkingDemonstrate strong follow-up and follow-throughHold leaders and hourly team members accountable to expectationsPersonally handle difficult performance and behavioral conversationsDo not defer people issues to inexperienced supervisors or leadsCoach and develop managers, supervisors, and team leadsBuild a culture of ownership, respect, accountability, and resultsLeadership Expectations (Non-Negotiable)Leads from the front; visible and engaged on the floorHolds self and others accountableCommunicates clearly and directlyFollows up until issues are fully closedBuilds leaders, not dependencyPrioritizes safety, accuracy, and service over shortcutsSafety & HousekeepingOwn site safety compliance and housekeeping standardsEnsure safety training, audits, and corrective actions are completedAddress unsafe behaviors immediatelyPromote a clean, organized, and professional facilityContinuous ImprovementIdentify and lead process improvement initiativesPilot new workflows, tools, and standardsPartner cross-functionally to improve end-to-end operational flowDrive standardization and scalabilityPerformance & AccountabilityOwn and deliver site-level KPIsInvestigate missed KPIs, identify root causes, and implement corrective actionsReview daily and weekly performance dashboardsPartner with internal reporting teams to ensure accurate dataDrive regular employee touchpoints, including:Supervisor-to-employee scorecard reviews1:1s with managers and supervisorsRequired Qualifications:5+ years of distribution center or warehouse operations leadership experienceProven experience managing multi-functional operations teamsStrong working knowledge of inbound, outbound, inventory, and shipping functionsDemonstrated ability to lead people, not just processesComfortable addressing performance and accountability issues directlyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience managing labor, productivity, and operational costsWhy Join Us:Direct hire, Leadership roleHigh-impact position within a growing national organizationOpportunity to set standards and influence a broader networkCompetitive compensation with performance-based incentivesCulture focused on accountability, safety, and operational excellence
