Valuations Manager

A leading global investment firm focused on partnering with high-growth, innovation-driven companies is seeking a Valuations Manager to join its finance and portfolio operations team. The firm invests across a broad range of sectors including technology, healthcare, consumer, digital assets, and other emerging industries. The position follows a hybrid schedule based in the greater New York metropolitan area.The Valuations Manager will play a key role in overseeing the quarterly valuation process for a diverse private investment portfolio. This individual will be responsible for managing valuation workflows, reviewing financial models, analyzing portfolio performance, and supporting broader portfolio analytics and reporting initiatives. The role partners closely with investment professionals, finance leadership, and an offshore valuation support team.This position is highly analytical and combines valuation oversight with strategic portfolio analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in private company valuations, financial modeling, market analysis, and portfolio monitoring, along with the ability to identify trends, evaluate assumptions, and communicate insights to senior stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Manage the quarterly valuation cycle and ensure timely completion of deliverablesReview and oversee valuation models, supporting schedules, and analyses prepared by internal and offshore teamsEvaluate valuation methodologies, assumptions, market comparables, and portfolio company performance metricsAnalyze capital structures, financing rounds, waterfall calculations, and ownership changesConduct portfolio analytics, performance tracking, and ad hoc financial analysis for leadership and investment teamsSupport investor reporting, fundraising requests, diligence inquiries, and internal reporting processesAssist with financial modeling including guideline public company analysis, option pricing, scenario analysis, IRR projections, and related valuation methodologiesMaintain and enhance portfolio data, reporting templates, and analytical processesIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, technology, and AI-enabled toolsCollaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and investment professionals on valuation and portfolio-related initiativesCandidate Profile:Approximately 4–8 years of experience in valuation, transaction advisory, investment analysis, portfolio monitoring, private equity, venture capital, or a related fieldStrong understanding of private company valuation methodologies and financial modelingExperience reviewing and managing work prepared by others in a deadline-driven environmentAbility to analyze large volumes of financial and operational data and communicate findings effectivelyStrong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and intellectual curiosityComfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving prioritiesInterest in financial markets, private investments, and high-growth sectorsExposure to automation, data tools, or AI-enabled workflow improvements is highly preferredCompensation includes base salary, bonus potential, and comprehensive benefits.
