Engineering - Hardware Engineer
Overview
In this role you will develop and integrate hardware for a FAA Level D Full Flight Simulator, collaborating across engineering, procurement, and manufacturing to deliver robust aviation training hardware. You will lead hardware efforts, solve complex integration challenges with facility infrastructure, and drive design approvals within an agile, cross-functional program. The opportunity lets you shape high-fidelity flight training systems and contribute to mission-critical simulation technology.
ResponsibilitiesComplete hardware design and development for power/control, motion platform, visuals, avionics interfaces, and ancillary equipmentManage end-to-end integration of simulator hardware with building infrastructure (HVAC, electrical distribution, grounding, fire/smoke monitoring)Lead hardware engineers and coordinate with procurement, production planning, manufacturing, and suppliers to meet scheduleDevelop innovative solutions aligned with program objectives
Key requirementsBachelor in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related fieldExperience developing flight simulation hardware solutionsExperience issuing design approvals or non-conformance reports via a PLM toolDeveloping CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, assemblies, and test articlesDeveloping HW architectural layouts and deriving hardware/sub-tier requirements from customer requirementsBuilding BOMs and design documentationExperience supporting cross-functional teams through major technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)Experience applying Hardware Engineering processes in an Agile environmentLeadership and team coordinationCross-functional collaborationProblem solving and proactive communicationWindchill, Creo, Catia, Zuken, CameoGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5)Hardware architecture and interconnects design
