Electro Mechanical Engineer
Overview
As Electromechanical Design Engineer at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, you develop production-ready hardware for aerospace and defense systems. You will create electromechanical subsystems, from CCAs to wiring harnesses and enclosures, and ensure seamless integration with cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes model-based design, strict configuration control, and verification throughout the product lifecycle. You will work on high-impact programs that power mission-critical subsystems for the U.S. and allies. This is a hands-on, collaborative opportunity to shape hardware for defense applications and field operations.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electromechanical subsystems (CCAs, wiring harnesses, enclosures) and related sub-assembliesProduce mechanical layouts, 3D models, and drawings; select materials, components, and manufacturing processesModel wiring harnesses in Zuken and generate complete Bills of MaterialsCreate model-based routing and layout packages meeting size, weight, and power constraintsDefine acceptance-test criteria, perform verification tests, and document results in WindchillManage MRB actions, update engineering change records, and maintain configuration controlCollaborate with structural/thermal analysts, CM, electrical/mechanical designers, subcontractors, planning, and QAProvide technical support during design releases, assembly, inspection, and testTravel to supplier sites or manufacturing facilities to resolve issues and validate hardwareApply electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles across prototype, testing, and production stages
Key requirementsBachelor in Electrical EngineeringMinimum 2 years in electromechanical engineering or related fieldExperience with CREO/Pro Engineer or equivalent 3D CADBasic electrical knowledge and harness/cable design experienceKnowledge of ASME Y14.5M (GD&T)Harness and cable design experience; CREO Cable tool familiarityUnderstanding of electrical connectors, fastening techniques, and machiningExperience with military/industry specs (IPC, AMSE, ASTM)Experience with electrical test equipmentUS citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearanceExperience with Windchill Product Data Managementcross-functional collaborationproblem solvingcommunicationCircuit-card assembly (CCA) designZuken for interconnect and harness designModel-based design
