Billing Manager

A growing consulting firm in Chicago, IL is seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Billing Manager to join their team. This is a fully in-office position offering a competitive salary of $65,000–$80,000 + benefits. This role is ideal for a professional with strong billing experience who enjoys balancing financial responsibilities with front office operations. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day office functionality while managing core billing and financial processes. A comprehensive benefits package is offered including but not limited to medical and dental insurance as well as generous PTO.Key Responsibilities of the Billing Manager:Manage high-volume billing (150–175 invoices/month), including reviewing contracts to ensure accurate billing amounts and line itemsOversee accounts receivable, deposits, and collections, along with light accounts payable responsibilitiesProcess payroll and reimbursements, maintain financial records, perform reconciliations, and assist with weekly reporting (balance sheet, P&L, aging)Support cash flow tracking and partner with leadership and external accountants on financial planning and reportingAssist with HR-related processes, benefits coordination, and multi-state compliance (IL, CA, NC, KY, HI, OR)Serve as the front desk point of contact while managing office operations, including vendors, supplies, mail, and general administrative supportUtilize internal systems for billing and financial management, along with Google Workspace for day-to-day communication and organization, while addressing client inquiries as neededQualifications of the Billing Manager: 3–5 years of experience in a billing, office management, or similar administrative/financial roleStrong billing experience, including working with high-volume invoicing and interpreting contract or service-based billing structuresHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-through skillsComfortable managing multiple responsibilities across billing, office administration, and front desk functionsProficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar) with working knowledge of spreadsheets (no advanced functions required)Experience with payroll systems and financial platforms is preferredStrong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teamsAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt in a fast-paced environmentProfessional, reliable, and customer-service oriented demeanorP - 7
