Adventure and Outdoor Rock Climbing Instructor (Part-Time) - Recreation & Parks

Looking to share your passion for rock climbing and get paid to lead others? Get paid to lead children and adults to adventure in a flexible position that can be scheduled around you! Howard County Recreation and Parks is seeking part-time rock climbing instructors to lead rock climbing activities indoor on the Roger Carter Community Center Climbing Wall and outdoor with the Adventure & Outdoor summer camps. Preferred applicants have previous experience instructing top rope climbing in both gym and outdoor locations in a work or volunteer setting, including teaching technique, flexibility, patience and a positive attitude. The instructor will perform instruction, coordination and supervision of duties during climbing classes, open climb sessions and climbing trips for the Adventure, Nature and Outdoor unit, including driving a County vehicle to locations around Maryland.This is the perfect part time job for someone who has a flexible schedule and looking for some extra income. Applicants must be at least 21 yrs old and possess a clean driving record. CPR/First Aid certification and previous experience driving with a trailer preferred.This is a part time position with evening and weekend hours (time varies) with a very flexible schedule. Classes and programs are held at Howard County Recreation and Park facilities and parks and various regional paddling locations.
