Residential Youth CounselorThe Residential Youth Counselor (RYC) on JCCA's Residential Treatment Campus, builds strong, positive relationships with youth, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and empowered within a therapeutic campus community.Whether you are beginning your career in behavioral health or bringing experience in youth care, this role offers hands-on experience, professional training, and meaningful growth opportunities.Summary of ResponsibilitiesProvide supervision and guidance to youth in residential cottages, on campus, and in the communityLead and participate in therapeutic, recreational, and skill-building activitiesTransport and accompany youth to appointments, home visits, and community outingsSupport daily routines including hygiene, meals, organization, and school readinessTeach and reinforce essential life skills such as emotional regulation, communication, accountability, and self-careServe as a positive role model, demonstrating healthy boundaries and respectful communicationBuild strengths-based, trusting relationships through encouragement and consistencyUtilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environmentPartner with clinicians, team members, and families to support treatment goalsComplete required documentation including daily logs and incident reportsQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)Must be 21 years of age or olderAbility to pass background checksStrong interest in working with youth and young adults in a residential settingValid NY, NJ, or CT driver's license preferredIf you are compassionate, dependable, and ready to make a real impact in the lives of young people, we encourage you to apply.Salary: $18.50 -$23.00 ***differential offered for driver license and overnight shiftsJCCA complies with applicable state and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment in every location in which JCCA has facilities.
