Doctor of Medicine | Surgery - Orthopedic Location: Maine Employer: Barton Associates Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position LocumJobsOnline is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified Orthopedic Surgery MD in Maine!We are seeking a skilled Orthopedic Surgeon for a 120-day assignment in Maine, starting May 4, 2026. This role involves a split schedule across two sites within the state, working 7a-5p M-F for two weeks per month, with no call or weekends. The physician will focus on a mix of clinic and operating room duties, handling a variety of cases including major joint replacements, injections, and general orthopedic care for an older patient population.Responsibilities and DutiesPerform clinic and operating room duties as scheduled.Demonstrate proficiency in managing cases involving hips, knees, shoulders, and hands.Conduct knee replacement procedures; experience with hip replacement is not mandatory but welcomed.Address high volume of shoulder, hand, and knee cases, including joint replacements.Administer injections and perform trigger point procedures.Provide patient care to an older population with kindness and patience.Participate in OR cases such as Index Trigger Finger, Total Knee Replacement, Total Hip Replacement, Shoulder SAD, Open DCE & RCR, Percutaneous Pinning Right Femoral Neck (possible BIPOLAR), Trigger Thumb Release, Reattach Left Lateral Epicondyle, and Carpal Tunnel Release.Additional InformationRequired Board Certifications: Orthopaedic SurgeryEMR: Meditech EHRShift hours are 7a-5p M-F for two weeks per month.No call or weekend duties required.BenefitsStrong compensationTravel-related expenses coveredA-rated medical malpractice insurance providedDedicated recruiter for future travel opportunitiesWhat are Locum Tenens Jobs?Locum tenens jobs, sometimes referred to as travel assignments, are contract positions that help meet patient care needs at various healthcare facilities and hospitals for a defined period.
