Network Engineer III - WifiStart: 2 weeks from date of offerLocation: Primarily Remote with emergency visits onsite as required. Length of Contract: 6-9 months*High likely hood of conversion to Perm*Hourly Pay: 70-80 p/hr - W2 Contract OnlyTop 3 requirements: Current & Advance WiFi Knowledge At least some familiarity on networking statBasic NetworkingScout/Cisco SDA Network Engineer III (Wifi)The Network Engineer-III is responsible for the planning, design, configuration, integration & installation of our growing local area network (LAN) and/or global wide area network (WAN). The Network Engineer-III will provide leadership in technical support and documentation to various departments and users with regard to the global infrastructure. The Network Engineer-III serves as a liaison to gather network requirements from internal customers, vendors, and other third-party providers. This role will focus on deploying and maintaining Wi-Fi networks, including upgrading to a new Cisco platform. Additionally, maintenance and configuration of Forescout NAC and Cisco SDA network.Additional travel to satellite locations in Tacoma, WA, and Olympia, WAResponsibilitiesPerform design requirements feasibility studies including adds and moves of existing wirelessPerform vendor recommendation/selection and coordination for hardware testing and installations Examine existing Wireless infrastructure and recommend changes or additional needs for the customerBUILD: Prepare maintenance plans, documentation & change management coordination for the least impact to the customer Perform necessary maintenance and upgrades to all wireless devices Work in either a lead role or an assisting role during maintenance implementations IMPROVEMENTS: Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) & Method of Procedures (MOP’s) Develop wireless network standards for each SSID. Work with other teams to test and improve connectivity for all corporate, BYOD, and guest devices. Maintaining high levels of security and ease of use.Document all content for specialized network designs to be used for training needs Present and/or Train on new wireless network topologies, hardware, and technologies to internal teams Lead Root Cause Analysis sessions to achieve better networking practices and improved uptime.Determine baseline requirements for our network needs Provide code analysis on existing software, IOS testing, and software recommendations for upgradesCreate network lab mockups for error testing Automate repetitive Engineering tasks ADDITIONAL: Knowledge of Forescout management, profiling, and maintenance.Manages the team’s ticket queue and responds on-site to issues. Act as 3rd level escalations POC for design or other related problems Initial deployment of new products and services Monitor capacity and plan for bandwidth additions Establish project priority based on business needs Requirements:High School Diploma or regional equivalent requiredBachelor's Degree required, preferably in Computer Science or Network Engineering. At the manager’s discretion, additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement Minimum 5-7 years of recent experience with network design and build-out of LAN/WANs and/or large-scale network retrofits and remediations Experience with network access control (NAC) and software-defined networking technologies, including Forescout and Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA)Experience with enterprise wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi design, deploying and maintaining Wi-Fi networks, RF optimization, and troubleshooting.Must have certifications: CCNAPreferred certifications: CCDA, CCNP, CCDP preferred, CCIE (R&S, SP, or DC) highly preferred (or equivalent experience), Python PCEP Advanced level experience working with most of the following technologies/applications: MPLS, BGP, LDP, QoS, IPv6, OSPF, vPC, STP, DWDM, EVPN, L2VPN, MPLS VPN, L3VPN, FHRP, VLAN, CDP, port-channels, IS-IS, MPLS Inter-AS, VXLAN, DNS, ACL, RADb, Flowspec, RTBH, GitHub, API’s, NFV, Hypervisors, virtual switching Multi-vendor experience working with the following platforms: Cisco IOS, ASR 1k (IOS-XE), ASR NCS (IOS-XR), Nexus (NX-OS), Arista (EOS), Junos Experience working in a service provider, datacenter/hosting environment, or large-scale enterprise networks. Experience researching, evaluating, and recommending hardware and/or software solutions supporting large-scale deployments and/or remediations against the LAN/WAN Experience working with 3rd party networking vendors, with an understanding of the service/hardware/software portfolios they provide Able to identify areas of process improvement and provide input and solution options to streamline work Excellent writing, documentation, and communication skills, possessing the ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical peers. Customer service-oriented attitude Experience with network service monitoring systems (Spectrum, Solarwinds, and Cisco DNAC)
