Dear Applicant,Please let me know if you are interested.Job Title - Data Center Facility Technician Location - Johns Creek, GA/ Chandler, AZ / Omaha, NE / Irving, TX – 5 days onsite Hire Type – Long Term Contract Requirement:(With Data Center Operations Experience)(Critical Facilities Operations)Job DescriptionRole Title: Data Center Facility TechnicianDepartment: Data Center Critical Facilities / M&E OperationsLocation: On‑Site Data Center (refer above table)Reports To: Facility Operations Manager / Data Center Site LeadSchedule & Coverage: Shift-based role; may include nights/weekends/holidaysand on-call support during incidents and maintenance windows.Overview:The Data Center Facility Technician supports the operation and maintenance of the data center’s mechanical, electrical, and environmental infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone with some prior data‑center operations experience who understands the fundamentals of mission‑critical environments and is looking to develop deeper technical expertise in facilities engineering.The technician assists senior facility engineers with inspections, monitoring, incident response, preventive maintenance, and vendor oversight—all while following strict safety, security, and compliance controls.Physical/Work Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in equipment rooms with noise/temperature variation, and wear required PPE; follows the site incident escalation process and supports response activities as directed.Key Responsibilities:Critical Power & Electrical SupportAssist with inspections of UPS systems, PDUs, switchgear, and electrical panels.Monitor alarms, log anomalies, and escalate issues to senior technicians.Support routine checks such as breaker positions, battery status, and electrical room conditions.Provide hands‑on help during power maintenance windows and equipment downtime.Mechanical & Cooling SupportConduct rounds on CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, pumps, and cooling loops.Check temperature, humidity, and airflow; report deviations to senior staff.Assist with filter changes, leak checks, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.Help maintain hot/cold aisle discipline and environmental stability.Facility Monitoring & ResponseMonitor site conditions through BMS/DCIM and identify environmental alarms.Perform initial hands‑on checks during incidents under guidance.Log conditions accurately for incident and root‑cause documentation.Participate in emergency response drills and basic failover procedures.Preventive & Corrective MaintenanceAssist in executing PM tasks across electrical and mechanical systems.Support vendors and OEM technicians during maintenance activities.Follow MOPs/SOPs and ensure accurate completion of work orders and logs.Help validate post‑maintenance system performance and operational readiness.Safety, Compliance & OperationsConduct daily walkthroughs to identify unusual noise, vibrations, leaks, or hazards.Follow all EHS, electrical safety, and LOTO procedures.Maintain accurate documentation in CMMS/DCIM systems.Uphold high standards for physical security, access control, and compliance.Qualifications & ExperienceRequired1–3 years of experience in a data center, critical facility, industrial plant, or technical operations role.Basic understanding of: electrical systems (UPS, PDUs, breakers), mechanical systems (CRAC/CRAH, chillers, pumps), and BMS/DCIM monitoring tools.Ability to perform routine inspections and follow documented procedures.Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.PreferredExperience supporting facility vendors or maintenance windows.Familiarity with reading basic electrical/mechanical drawings.Safety certifications (OSHA10, NFPA‑70E) or willingness to obtain.Interest in growing into a senior or lead facility engineering role.Key CompetenciesEagerness to learn and grow technical skillsets.Dependability and accountability.Solid attention to detail.Strong communication and documentation habits.Ability to follow procedures and safety standards.Calm and professional during incidents or escalations.
