No matter where your talents lie, join us and discover how we can advance health together.Duke Health Integrated PracticeDuke Health Integrated Practice comprises more than 110 primary and specialty outpatient clinics, extending the reach of the Duke Health mission across the state of North Carolina.Advanced Practice Provider - Duke Surgical Oncology ClinicsJob LocationDuke Cancer Center, 20 Duke Medicine Circle, Durham, NCDuke Raleigh Cancer Center, 3404 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NCJob SummaryWe are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider with the Duke Surgical Oncology Division in Hepatico-pancreaticobiliary (HPB) Surgery.Position will work in tandem with attending physicians, collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations, and provide direct patient care services. Primary hours will be Monday through Friday, day shift, with hours flexible to meet the needs of the patients. There are no on call responsibilities. The APP will be in 2-3 tandem clinic sessions with the MD and 5-6 independent clinic sessions per week (in person and telemedicine).Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with Surgical Oncology (HPB Surgery) attending physician(s), the NP/PA performs triage, physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies, diagnostic procedures and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, coordinates the care of patients, and provides direct patient care services.Analyze clinical practice patterns so as to provide the best medical care and to increase effectiveness and efficiency.Communicate verbally and in writing all pertinent patient information to supervising MD, nursing staff, patient resource manager, home health agency, and other relevant healthcare providers.Provide timely documentation in the electronic medical record of all relevant data including results of diagnostic tests; laboratory results; patients' condition and response to therapies/interventions; communications with physician colleagues.Job Eligibility RequirementsEducationNurse Practitioners:Work requires completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with a Master's degree in Nursing.Physician Assistants:Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. A Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred.CertificationBLS required.LicenseNurse Practitioners:Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
