A highly awarded rural health system in northern Maine is adding a Hospitalist.About the Opportunity Medical Center, with a total licensed capacity of 74 beds also operates a 65-bed acute care hospitalWell-known for its patient-centered services, the hospital, and its staff have won numerous state and national awards for quality in both customer service and clinical performanceThe family includes approximately 540 employees, 60 active medical staff providers, 100 courtesy and consulting physicians, and 75 volunteersThe four-weekday hospitalists will create a coverage schedule so that: 1) 24-hour coverage is achieved Monday - Friday; 2) coverage assignments between days and nights are distributed evenly; and 3) approximately fifteen scheduled shifts are worked in any four-week scheduleAll shifts are 12 hours in length, starting at either 6:00 AM or 6:00 PMApproximately one-half day per week per hospitalist when working on the day shift is allocated to administrative or non-patient care dutiesWeekends are covered by our full-time hospitalist working from 6:00 AM Saturday through 6:00 AM MondayTop pay and full benefitsCommunity/LocationLocated in the most northeastern city in the US and has a population of 8,000 peopleThis community is economically, culturally, and socially invitingYear-round outdoor recreation including hunting, fishing, camping, and kayakingHigh-quality public schools and a low crime rateThe community boasts a new multi-million dollar Recreation and Wellness Center that offers programs and activities for all agesClose to the Canadian border and 3 hours to Bangor JV-7
