Senior Financial Analyst

This is a w2 contract. Please NO C2C support at this time. We're currently looking for a Senior Financial Analyst or Financial Analyst Lead for one of our large bio/pharma clients in California. This role is 100% remote supporting primarily the pst time zone. The pay rate is $71.00 an hour w2. We are looking for candidates who have supported technology groups and have provided portfolio or program support including governance, etc. Technology Contract through 2026 with potential extension Requires strong communication skills to work with Senior leaders for ETDG (ILM) funding process, supporting technology projects and portfolios. Must have Advanced Excel, Smartsheet and SAP/Ariba reporting & budgeting and the ability to learn new systems (ex: Anaplan, Power BI reporting). Soft skills: ability to deal with ambiguity as this ETGE process is being defined. Anaplan is a plus but can be learned. The Portfolio Finance Manager operates at the intersection of Finance, Technology, and Project Leadership , supporting the financial planning, funding governance, and forecasting of the Enterprise Technology portfolio. This role ensures technology investments are accurately planned, funded, tracked, and reported while helping project and technology leaders navigate financial processes and governance requirements. The role requires strong financial acumen combined with an understanding of technology delivery models (Agile and Waterfall). The Portfolio Finance Manager partners closely with Finance, Technology leadership, and Project Managers to ensure projects are funded appropriately and comply with enterprise financial and governance standards. Key Responsibilities Manage financial planning and forecasting activities for the technology project portfolio using Anaplan . Participate in regular financial forecast cycles and ensure project forecasts are accurate and up to date. Support the annual portfolio planning process and maintain the portfolio as projects are initiated, updated, or closed. Provide financial insights and support decision-making around project funding and portfolio investment. Funding Governance & Process Support Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Enterprise Technology and Data Governance (ETDG) funding process . Support Project Managers through the ETDG funding process by ensuring funding documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with governance requirements. Ensure projects successfully complete required funding gates and approvals. Participate in ETDG process improvement initiatives . Financial Oversight of Technology Projects Ensure project costs are properly categorized as capital, deferred, or expense in accordance with accounting policies. Apply knowledge of accruals, amortization, and depreciation to support accurate financial reporting. Provide guidance to project teams on financial treatment of project activities during build and delivery phases. Monitor portfolio financial performance and support resolution of financial discrepancies or risks. Systems, Tools, and Reporting Work across financial and portfolio management systems including Anaplan, SAP, Ariba, Smartsheet, and SharePoint . Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new forecasting modules and financial planning capabilities in Anaplan. Maintain accurate financial and portfolio records across systems. Cross-Functional Support Partner with Finance, Technology leadership, and Project Managers to support portfolio financial management. Respond to urgent and ad-hoc financial analysis or reporting requests as needed. Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of financial management concepts , including forecasting, budgeting, accruals, amortization, and depreciation. Knowledge of capital vs. expense accounting treatment for technology projects. Familiarity with technology delivery models , including Agile and Waterfall project phases . Ability to translate financial processes for project and technology teams. Experience with enterprise planning and financial systems such as Anaplan, SAP, Ariba , and collaboration tools such as Smartsheet and SharePoint .
