Registered NurseAbout the RoleProvides supervision and direction within the IRAs to all AMAP staff in regard to medical care and medication administration; provides direct medical support to individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. Maintains accurate medical service records.What You'll DoDirect Supervision for all staff providing medical support to individuals within the residential program.Work closely with staff and individuals to ensure the medical well-being of all individuals within a safe and clean environment.Ensure effective medical care, proper documentation, and reporting of all administration of medication to individuals based on Organization and OPWDD guidelines.Monitor, distribute, and document all training to staff and individuals in regard to medical care and medication administration.Be on-call for emergencies with prompt response time.Provide timely reports to managers and Director, Health Services of any discrepancies found on the Medication Administration sheets or in the individual's medical care.Notifies management of and follows up on any emergency medical care for individuals.Collaborates with the QI/QA team to ensure the best outcome for the program and individuals by compiling medical reports and data for individuals, annual and semiannual reviews, and by providing ongoing feedback to leadership regarding individuals' care.Assigns, reviews, and documents individuals' medical care in a monthly note for each individual.Conduct needed trainings for staff regarding the care of individuals.Other duties as assigned.Your QualificationsRN, Prefer BSN, at least 2 years work experienceCurrent NYS nursing licenseExpert knowledge of nursing practice in regard to intellectual/developmental disabilities residential servicesAbility to calculate, monitor, and analyze reports regarding medication administration and lab resultsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)Able to encourage positive attitude toward individuals' capabilities and limitationsPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities required of the employee for this job.
