Partners with event staff and clients to ensure audio-visual needs and requirements are met. Serves event and classroom environments. Works directly with students, professors and other event staff to support events as required.ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Works directly with clients to plan events and produces creative solutions to make their events successful Responsible for supervision of technical operations for assigned event AV operations Responsible for design and set-up of AV/Production equipment and gear prior to event and tear-down proceeding each event as needed by requestor Responsible for events and operation of KSU campus event spaces using audio visual equipment Oversees various events, small meeting, student lead events, conferences and expos. Maintains equipment inventory, keeping items up to date and making necessary repairs or replacements Ensures proper set-up of equipment per clients expectation and guidelines Provides quotes, tracks, and invoices events in EMS (Event Management System) and ensures all information is correct and events are produced to specification requested Assists other Technical Directors across campus when events require additional support Manages assigned staff, students, contractors and other Technical Directors as required to fill additional needs for larger or multiple simultaneous eventsWorks directly with partner production company to quote additional resources for eventsRequired QualificationsEducational RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentOther Required QualificationsCurrent, valid, and unrestricted driver's licenseRequired ExperienceTwo (2) years of related experiencePreferred QualificationsAdditional Preferred QualificationsExperience with PC and Macintosh operating system is necessaryExperience with web-conferencing is idealPreferred Educational QualificationsA technical, undergraduate, or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related fieldAbilitiesKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAble to compile, communicate and provide event quotes and invoicesAble to piece together simple sound system, making it workAble to manage events in all circumstances and conditionsAble to exhibit flexibility and handle last minute requests or changesAble to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlinesKNOWLEDGEUnderstanding of video and audio systems for classrooms as well as large eventsKnowledge of EMS (Event Management System)General knowledge of audioKnowledge of video projection systemsSkillsExcellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skillsProficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)Strong attention to detail and follow up skillsStrong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquetteUSG Core ValuesThe University System of Georgia is comprised of our 25 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
