Job Description SummaryThe Vascular Access Nurse I reports to the Vascular Access Insertion Nursing (VAIN) Coordinator and the Lead Coordinator for Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing and Vascular Access Insertion Nursing Programs. Under general supervision, the Vascular Access Nurse I works collaboratively with the VAIN Coordinator providing PICC, midline, and IV vascular access to patients utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; reducing post procedure complication rates and providing quality patient care. This role provides education to patients and family members regarding PICC care and maintenance while interacting with other members of the health care team to achieve the desired results. Successful completion of in house PICC Excellence training modules required within 1 months of hire date. PICC or vascular access certification (CPUI, VA-BC, or CRNI) to be obtained within 18 months of hire date. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
