Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (VT) and may requireflexibility to act as support and/or serve both locations, depending on needs.The MedicalStaff Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects ofthe medical staff office and credentialing functions for two affiliatedcritical access hospitals. This position ensures compliance with hospitalbylaws, regulatory requirements (CMS, Joint Commission, etc.), and professionalstandards. The Coordinator serves as a liaison between the medical staff,administration, and governing bodies of both hospitals, ensuring consistent andefficient operations.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:Credentialing& PrivilegingManage initial and reappointment processes for all medical staff andallied health professionals.Verify credentials, education, licensure, board certifications, and workhistory in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.Maintain accurate, confidential credentialing databases.Coordinate with department chairs and medical executive committees onprivileging decisions.Medical StaffAdministrationSchedule and coordinate Medical Staff, Department, and Committeemeetings across both hospitals.Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and follow-up documents.Assist in the development and maintenance of medical staff bylaws,rules, and regulations.Serve as resource for medical staff regarding bylaws, hospital policies,and credentialing.Compliance& AccreditationEnsure compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation and stateregulations regarding medical staff processes.Prepare documentation for regulatory surveys and audits.Maintain records for peer review, focused/proctoring reviews, andOPPE/FPPE.Communication& CoordinationAct as primary liaison between the medical staff, hospital leadership,and boards of trustees at local site and between affiliate and system sites.Facilitate communication between the two hospital systems to ensurealignment of credentialing and governance standards.Assist in integrating contracted, telehealth, and locum providers asneeded across both hospitals.Other DutiesPayorenrollment - Support payor enrollment, ensuring continuity and communication toensure successful readiness to start.Provideronboarding Coordinate and communicate provider start dates, and onboarding,working with Medical Directors, Senior Leaders, and medical staff.Medical Student and Learners Coordinate and communicate medicalstudent rotations, working with human resources, department leaders, andmedical student academic centers.Skills required:Knowledge of medical staff operations,credentialing, bylaws, and regulatory standards.Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills.Strong written and verbal communicationskills.Proficiency with credentialing software andMicrosoft Office Suite.Ability to handle sensitive andconfidential information appropriately.Requested time off during the course of this assignment MUST be noted and verified at upload.
