Business Operations Analyst

Strategy & Operations AnalystLocation: San Francisco, CACompensation: $150K–$200K + Competitive EquityWork Policy: 5 days/week in-office, SFKeywords: KPIs, SQL, LLMAbout the RoleAn AI based Marketplace used by the leading tech giants is seeking a Strategy & Operations Analyst to provide the analytical rigor, operational structure, and cross-functional partnership needed to support a high-performing delivery organization. This is a data-first role where you'll turn complex datasets into actionable insights, build scalable processes, and influence decision-making across the business.If you enjoy solving ambiguous problems, partnering closely with leadership, and building systems that scale, this role offers both immediate impact and long-term growth.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain dashboards (Metabase or similar) that track team performance, funnel health, and operational metricsConduct ad hoc analyses to diagnose trends, identify bottlenecks, and answer strategic questions for leadershipAnalyze marketplace dynamics including funnel conversion, supply-demand balance, cohort behavior, and liquidityStrengthen metric definitions, instrumentation, and data models in partnership with data and engineering teamsSupport weekly and monthly operating cadences, including business reviews and accountability mechanismsDevelop scalable processes and frameworks that improve consistency, reduce friction, and enable growthProvide data-backed insights for intake calls, business reviews, and client-facing conversationsWork cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Operations, and Delivery to unblock issues and drive initiativesLeverage AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, internal tooling) to accelerate analysis and automate workflowsRequired Skills & Experience2–4 years of experience in consulting, BizOps, analytics, or a similar structured problem‐solving roleAdvanced SQL proficiency, including comfort working with large, messy datasetsStrong Excel/Sheets skills, including modeling, pivot tables, and ad hoc analysisExperience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) as part of your analytical workflowStrong analytical thinking: able to move from ambiguous question → structured approach → clear recommendationFamiliarity with BI tools such as Metabase, Looker, or TableauAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage environment with shifting prioritiesCONSULTING EXPERIENCE WITH BAIN, McKINSEY... etc...Why This Role Is UniqueFirst dedicated analytics hire supporting a revenue-generating teamDirect impact - your dashboards and insights will shape how the delivery organization operatesClear growth path into broader BizOps ownership across the marketplaceSmall, high-ownership environment where your work hits production quickly
