Job Description: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Contract) Job Type: Contract Position Urgency: Normal Specialty: Nursing Sub-Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Length of Assignment: 13–15 weeks Shift: Days – Three 12-hour shifts weekly (36 hours/week) Hours: Not guaranteed Minimum Experience: 2 years EMR: EPIC Bilingual: Not required Holiday Coverage: Required Position Overview This contract role is for an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join a busy, fast-paced emergency department. The RN will provide high-quality, timely, and compassionate care to patients in a dynamic environment with rapid patient turnover. Candidates must obtain a Hawaii nursing license prior to the start of the assignment if they do not already hold one. Department Details 28-bed Emergency Department 4 trauma bays 2 behavioral health rooms 22 cardiac monitor rooms The unit is team-oriented, high-volume, and fast-paced , requiring strong clinical judgment and the ability to multitask under pressure. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to patients in the emergency department. Perform triage, assessment, intervention, and evaluation using evidence-based practices. Deliver care in trauma, behavioral health, and cardiac-monitored environments. Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as needed. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care. Use EPIC EMR for charting and documentation. Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and policy standards. Support rapid patient turnover and adapt quickly to changing clinical scenarios. Assist with emergency procedures and life-saving interventions. Required Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred (Not Required): Procedural Sedation TMCC EMPC Licensure Requirements Active Hawaii RN license required prior to starting. Candidates without a Hawaii license must apply immediately upon offer acceptance. Additional Requirements Must arrive the Thursday prior to assignment start to complete mandatory employee health appointments on Friday.
