Maintains a clean and safe working area. Reports potential safety hazards to supervisor immediately and actively participates in resolutions. Has the ability to setup and operate at least three of the following pieces of steel processing equipment: Large Plate Rolling machine Small Plate Rolling machine CNC Vertical Mitering Band Saw with bar feeder CNC Plasma Plate Cutting Table OxyFuel Plate Cutting Table CNC Plasma beam cutting machine. CNC Pipe Profiling Operates portable power tools such as large and small grinders. Operates stationary tools such as bench grinder, iron worker, drill press, and chop saw. Operates overhead crane, forklift, and other lifting equipment. Experience in welding processes (SAW, FCAW, GMAW). Knowledge of steel material grades. Perform routine inspections on equipment and components. Transcribe work order, part and heat numbers to material drop and traceability documents. Ability to work closely with the Quality Department concerning min. Thickness, roundness, NDE requirements and scheduling Issue plate, rolled material, saw cut material lengths, and associated drops to corresponding job/work order. Coordinate material requirements with forklift operator. Verify material grade and size matches cut list prior to cutting. Monitors inventory levels on consumables, i.e. saw blades, coolant and lubrication and reports to supervisor. Establish and maintains effective working relationships with all departments and workers. Effectively follows oral and written instructions and occasionally communicates them to others as needed. Performs duties with minimal supervision Reports problems to line supervisor and actively participates in resolutions. Perform other duties as required. Required Education Or Minimum Level High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience 2-4 years experience in steel fabrication-related environments. Software Knowledge CNC Software programs Skills Ability to read tape measures and rulers in increments of 1/16” Basic mathematic ability to add and subtract fractions, decimals and whole numbers. Must have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a fabrication and weld shop. Must be familiar with Safety and OSHA requirements within a welding environment. Mental Power: relies on instructions in terms of what and how work is to be done, as well as why it is done, within established policies and procedures.Physical Power: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety work boots.
