Senior Analytics Engineer, Healthcare InformaticsLocation: Remote within approved states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, excluding Philadelphia, South Carolina, and TexasCompensation: Target range of $45 to $55 per hour, with annualized compensation generally in the low-$90,000s to low-$110,000s, plus a target 10% bonus where applicableWork Model: RemoteA remote opportunity is available for a senior-level analytics professional to lead modernization efforts within a healthcare informatics environment. This role will focus on converting and enhancing legacy SAS-based analytics into Python-based solutions while partnering closely with business stakeholders, analytics teams, and technology partners.This position is best suited for someone who combines strong technical depth with the ability to communicate clearly across both technical and business audiences. The role does not include direct people management, but it does require project leadership, cross-functional coordination, and ownership of complex analytics initiatives from design through deployment.What You Will Do:Lead the design, testing, and deployment of analytics solutions that support business and operational prioritiesTranslate and modernize existing SAS-based analytics, reporting logic, and data transformations into Python-based solutionsInterpret existing SAS programs, including DATA steps, PROC SQL, and common analytical workflowsUse Python, SQL, pandas, and numpy to build maintainable analytics code while preserving business logic and output accuracyPartner with business leaders and end users to understand reporting intent, metrics, and downstream usageValidate converted logic by reconciling outputs, row counts, aggregations, and derived metrics between SAS and PythonConduct complex analysis, data profiling, and data modeling activities to support reporting, operational decisions, and performance improvementDevelop reporting, visualizations, and analysis that provide timely and consistent insight for business managementMonitor system and reporting performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiativesLead large projects and workgroups that support organizational initiatives and strategyCreate and maintain documentation for business logic, assumptions, data transformations, policies, procedures, and best practicesSupport data governance efforts and help ensure alignment with regulatory and organizational requirementsMentor and support informatics staff and end users to improve adoption, proficiency, and long-term maintainabilityRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Analytics, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field6+ years of related experienceStrong Python experience for data analysis, including pandas, numpy, and SQL integrationWorking knowledge of SAS, with the ability to read, interpret, and work through existing SAS codeExperience translating or modernizing legacy analytics, reporting logic, or data transformation workflowsStrong understanding of core analytics concepts, including joins, aggregations, time-based logic, and derived metricsExperience validating analytical outputs and ensuring data accuracyProven track record leading complex projects from conception through deploymentStrong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to business stakeholdersStrong data analysis and data mining skillsUnderstanding of data governance principles and healthcare regulatory requirementsBasic knowledge of statisticsBasic knowledge of the Medicare Part A and Part B programsProficiency with Microsoft Office toolsStrong technical writing and documentation skillsPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in a related technical field6+ years of experience analyzing Medicare claims, provider, or beneficiary dataExperience in healthcare, payer, or other regulated data environmentsFamiliarity with SAS macros and common PROC workflowsExperience with relational databasesKnowledge of medical terminology and coding structures such as CPT, ICD-9, and HCPCSExperience with business process design and requirements developmentExposure to cloud-based analytics platforms or modern data stacksExperience supporting business intelligence, reporting, or informatics teamsBackground in analytics engineering or data transformation rolesProject Management CertificationIdeal Profile:The ideal candidate is a hands-on analytics leader who can move comfortably between technical execution and business collaboration.
