Embedded Software EngineerLocation: ILStatus: ContractEstimated Duration: 12 months contract (Possibility of extension)Estimated Start Date: Ready to HireJob DescriptionPosition's Contributions to Work Group:The controls engineer position within the Electric Powertrain Control Systems team will be responsible for powertrain controls design, development, simulation, and validation for Electric Powertrain products. The position will develop common, leveraged control features to support various electrified powertrain system architectures. The position will collaborate with a global team to solve technical problems and deliver on project goals. Here, you can do the work that matters.Typical task breakdown:Developing powertrain controls requirements based on machine level performance / functional requirements.Developing leverageable control features for various electromechanical system architectures through model-based controls development.Utilize virtual product development for control system functional testing, powertrain optimization, and performance verification.Developing and validating powertrain control features through simulation, lab, and machine development utilizing CAN and ethernet based development tools.Analyzing data, investigating issues for root cause, and documenting powertrain control feature functionality and performanceCollaborating with process partners to deliver high quality product.Interaction with team:Frequent collaborationTeam Structure:About 20 people on the team, 4 team leads, reports into a team leadWork environment:Office, lab or machine development environmentEducation & Experience Required:Years of experience: 5 or more years related experience requiredDegree requirement: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Equivalent EngineeringWith an advanced degree willing to consider candidates with 2 or more years related experienceDo you accept internships as job experience: NoAre there past or additional job titles or roles that would provide comparable background to this role:A lot of our candidates come from the automotive industry with software and hands-on experience.
