If you are looking to take on new challenges, grow professionally, and make a valuable impact, we encourage you to apply today and take the next step in your career.DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will perform skilled work in the daily operation and maintenance of steam boilers and auxiliary equipment to produce steam that ensures reliable heat and hot water for hospital operations. Responsibilities include maintaining an uninterrupted supply of heat and hot water for the main facility and associated buildings. You will collaborate with utility plant staff to operate boilers and related equipment, such as pumps, fans, turbines, ash handling systems, and air compressors, while continuously producing steam and regulating system pressures throughout the power house. Additionally, you will oversee work assignments, demonstrate proper work methods, and review completed work to ensure compliance with established standards. You will also be r esponsible for enforcing all applicable safety policies, regulations, laws, rules, and procedures required in the power house . This role requires sole shift responsibility, managing overtime call-offs, and responding effectively to emergency situations.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description .Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Wednesday - Friday; and 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM, Saturday - Sunday.Overtime may be required and subject to emergency call in.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); orOne year of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six months of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment.Other Requirements:You must meet the PA residency requirement .
