This location will be in Arlington, VA and is a hybrid role.Responsibilities:Manage interdependencies between multiple VA IT systemsAssist project managers with implementing enterprise cloud integrationAssist project managers with the development of high quality responses to internal and external information requests5 years of experience with VistA deployment and patching, from the OS level upExperience with formal SDLC, particularly agileKnowledge of VA patch and release process for VistAKnowledge of VA practices and policiesExperience with Intersystem technology stack (Cache, Ensemble)Experience with Veterans Administration (VA) integration, including VistAExperience developing APIs, RPCs and clinical application code using Cache, MuMPs, or COS (Cache Object Script)Experience with XML, XSLT, JSON or other data formatsFamiliarity with relational & non-relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server, Mongo DB, Dynamo, CassandraAbility to communicate with brevity and clarity, both orally and through written communication, to management and co-workersPassionate and motivated self-starter that excels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring only limited supervisionStrong organizational skills and ability to multi-taskAbility to prioritize competing responsibilitiesAbility to have or obtain a VA Tier 3 Public Trust clearanceExperience with HL7 Messaging and standardsAbility to handle multiple tasks effectively, and work independently, with minimal supervision and directionFamiliar with: FHIR, HTML5/CSS, Restful Web Services, PostmanGood understanding of HealthShare and Health InsightsComputer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm design, and complexity analysisExperience with data warehousing design and implementationExperience designing, implementing, and using RESTful Web Services in a Microservice ArchitectureExperience translating design mockups and prototypes into working application designsFamiliarity with scripting languages such PowerShell or Unix shell scriptingYou have a solid understanding of version control principles, preferably using GitExperience with Agile Frameworks such as Scrum or KanbanExperience with TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Automated TestingMotivated to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projectsAbility to work in a fast paced and agile development environmentFederal Government experience, preferably with the Veteran's AdministrationVA VIP Methodology ExperienceSoftware as a Service (SaaS) implementationsCOTS solution implementation projectsExperience working in a CMMI-DEV ML3 organizationSuccess working with a geographically dispersed teamExperience working in the health care industryDeployment and patching of VistA for several cloud environmentsValidate VistA environmentsInteract with agile scrum teamsResearch & develop custom solutions for a variety of healthcare customers, from new solutions to mature, large scale distributed deploymentsWork on POCs and cutting-edge features before they're integrated into the productInfluence product decisions, features, and APIs based on your real-world usage experienceIndependently take projects to completionMaintain program data and documents on several web-based reporting tools, including SharePoint and IBM Rational toolsPrepare and maintain Veteran-Focused Intake Process (VIP) documentation for VA Office of Information & Technology (OI&T) projectsTranslate technical information from disparate sources into executive-level communicationsAdhere to standard operating procedures for program activities and identify process improvementsFacilitate meetings with VA employees and capture meeting minutesWork independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practicesFunction as part of an integrated team sharing products, best practices, and information across the portfolioPerform related duties as assigned by supervisorMaintain compliance with all company policies and proceduresEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements:Prior experience working on a VA OI&T development project is mandatoryExperience working with enterprise cloud integration highly preferredA Senior Developer must be able to create logical and functional software code in a variety of languagesMust have experience in understanding and articulating the benefits and risks associated with different coding languages in different functional environmentsMust have experience reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessaryBachelor's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required8+ year's professional experience in Software DevelopmentVIP and Rational Tools experience highly preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customersExperience working with the following software products: Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook/Access/MS Project, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Visio, IBM Rational Tool Suite, Skype, WebEx, WinZipExperience working in a consulting environment and understanding of client/customer relationsMust be able to work under pressure, coordinate multiple assignments at once, and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer serviceHigh attention
