The RN is responsible for delivering and coordinating direct and indirect nursing care using the nursing process to achieve optimal patient outcomes.Key responsibilities include:Planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for surgical patientsProviding advanced and specialized perioperative nursing careParticipating in clinical ladder advancement, education, committees, and quality initiativesEnsuring compliance with all hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional nursing practice requirementsMaintaining respectful, collaborative relationships with patients, families, and care team membersScheduleOrientation: Monday-Friday, five (5) 8‐hour day shifts (6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.)Post‐orientation: Monday-Friday, three (3) 12‐hour shifts (6:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m.)On‐call, holidays, and weekends are required as neededSchedule subject to change based on unit needsRequired QualificationsEducation* Graduation from an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), Nursing Diploma, or higher is required* Nurses without a BSN must enroll in an approved BSN program within 2 years of hire and complete it within 7 yearsExperienceMinimum 1 year of RN experience required1+ year of Operating Room experience preferredScrub and/or circulating experience requiredLicensure & CertificationCurrent RN licensure in North Carolina or a compact RN license requiredBLS certification (or higher) requiredProfessional specialty certification preferredDuke is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing employment opportunity without regard to an individual's age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex (including pregnancy and pregnancy related conditions), sexual orientation or military status.Duke aspires to create a community built on collaboration, innovation, creativity, and belonging.
