This pivotal role requires a professional who can lead technical accounting research and assessments in line with US GAAP and US Statutory, with a focus on investment structures, consolidation, asset transfers, derivatives, and financial instruments. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing technical accounting memos, advising on the accounting treatment of various investment types, and ensuring compliance with emerging accounting standards. A key aspect of the position is the development and implementation of strategies for new accounting guidance, as well as maintaining a robust SOX control environment for investment-related accounting policy.Applicants for the AVP, Financial Policy position at the company should hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting, with a CPA being strongly preferred. A minimum of 8 years' of technical accounting and/or accounting advisory experience within financial services is required, with a deep understanding of US GAAP and experience in US Statutory accounting being a plus. The ideal candidate will have a background in asset management, banking, capital markets, or insurance, with a preference for those with insurance experience. Strong technical expertise in alternative investments, structured finance, securitizations, and consolidation topics is essential. The role demands a professional with a proven track record of independently researching and resolving complex technical issues, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and business partners.
