To that end, we seek to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool.About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support our Payments (PayPort) platform, which powers critical business operations and revenue-generating processes. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and ongoing development of payment systems and related services.As a senior member of the team, you will contribute to both "run the business" operations and key initiatives, including payment integrations and financial reporting capabilities. You will work cross functionally with product, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, resilient solutions.What you'll do:Payment Platform OwnershipSupport and maintain the PayPort payment platform and related servicesEnsure system uptime, reliability, and performance of critical payment workflowsMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues impacting payment systemsDevelopment & DeliveryDesign, develop, and enhance payment processing capabilities and integrationsBuild and support bank and bureau reporting functionalityContribute to scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutionsParticipate in all phases of the software development lifecycleOperational ExcellenceSupport day-to-day "run the business" operations for payment systemsImprove system reliability through monitoring, alerting, and performance optimizationImplement best practices in testing, automation, and deploymentCollaboration & LeadershipCollaborate with cross-functional partners including Product, DevOps, and FinanceParticipate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and sprint planningMentor junior and mid-level engineers as neededWhat you'll have:5-8 years of experience in software developmentStrong experience with backend systems and service-oriented architectureExperience supporting or building payment systems or financial platformsProficiency in programming languages, frameworks, and database systems (SQL)Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and production supportStrong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in a production-critical environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with payment processing, financial systems, or regulated environmentsExperience building bank or bureau reporting systemsFamiliarity with scalability, fault tolerance, and high-availability systemsExperience working in high-growth or resource-constrained environmentsStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsBase salary range: $114,000 - $169,000 annually.
