Job description Senior Backend Software Engineer (Go) Location: Remote (North America – Pacific to Eastern time zones)Experience Level: 6–20 yearsBase Salary: $180,000 – $230,000 USDWork Authorization Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States or Canada.Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.We are able to support visa transfers and certain straightforward work authorizations (e.g., TN status and similar classifications).We're looking for a deeply experienced backend engineer to help build secure, scalable distributed systems from the ground up. This is an early-stage, high-ownership role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast with rigor, and cares deeply about building secure, enterprise-grade software.What You'll Do Architect and build secure, scalable distributed microservicesDesign backend systems for high availability and enterprise workloadsImplement robust audit logging and observability practicesDesign database schemas and write performant raw SQLBuild and maintain production CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes-based deploymentsDesign and implement identity and access management integrationsContribute to compliance-aligned engineering practices (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, CCPA)Partner cross-functionally across product, design, and engineeringJob requirements Required Experience Seniority 6–20 years of backend software engineering experienceStrong hands-on development experience in Go (preferred) or JavaCore Engineering Strength Excellent computer science fundamentalsStrong backend breadth (APIs, databases, distributed systems, infra awareness)Experience owning end-to-end systems in a startup or demonstrated ownership of major production systems at a larger tech companyExperience building secure, scalable distributed architecturesIdentity & Security Experience with identity and access management protocols:OAuth 2.0SAMLOIDCWebAuthnFamiliarity with certificate authorities and PKIUnderstanding of corporate IT/security ecosystems (MDM, endpoint security, etc.)Experience implementing audit logging in production systemsInfrastructure & Systems Strong conceptual understanding of CI/CD pipelinesProduction experience with KubernetesExperience designing database schemas and writing raw SQLCompliance & Governance Experience working with compliance frameworks such as:SOC 2ISO 27001GDPRCCPAEducation Computer Science degree from a top CS programNice-to-Have Background Experience in identity-focused companies (e.g., Okta, OneLogin, or similar identity providers)Experience building customer-facing identity or security infrastructure (not solely internal tooling)Equal Employment Opportunity TopTechTalent.ai believes that all persons are entitled to equal employment opportunities.
