Job Category: Hybrid/Full Time/Direct HireCompensation: $75,395 – $85,281 DOE /Generous Benefits +huge growth!Job Title: Staff Attorney – Immigrant Youth AdvocacyBBSI has partnered with a highly respected nonprofit legal organization that has spent nearly 50 years providing free legal services to individuals and families who need it most.We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Staff Attorney to advocate for immigrant youth and their caregivers. This unique role works directly with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to provide legal education, advocacy, and representation to undocumented children within school communities.This is an opportunity for an attorney who is committed to expanding access to justice and supporting vulnerable youth and families through community-based legal services.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a regular presence at designated LAUSD school campusesEducate school communities about available legal services and resourcesProvide legal rights presentations and workshops for caregivers and familiesRepresent caregivers in Probate Guardianship mattersAdvocate for undocumented minors seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) and other humanitarian reliefProvide representation in matters including removal proceedings, asylum, adjustment of status, U-visas, and T-visasConduct client intake, prepare cases, and coordinate placement with pro bono counselCollaborate with volunteers, law clerks, and community partnersQualificationsActive member of the California State Bar in good standing (required)Fluency in written and spoken Spanish (required)Experience in immigration law or nonprofit legal services preferredExperience working with children, families, or school communities strongly desiredAbility to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgroundsBenefitsGenerous paid holidays, vacation, and sick leavePersonal and floating holidays18 weeks paid parental leave (after one year of employment)Medical, dental, vision, chiropractic, and acupuncture coverage for employees and dependentsLife and AD&D insurance, long-term disability insurance, and Employee Assistance ProgramVoluntary life, accident, critical illness, and pet insurance403(b) retirement planHealthcare and childcare flexible spending accountsCommuter transit and parking benefitsCommitment to EquityTo best serve the community, the organization actively seeks a diverse workforce that reflects the populations served.
