DescriptionBid & Contracts Specialist - Law Enforcement EquipmentPosition SummaryThe Bid & Contracts Specialist is responsible for preparing, coordinating, and submitting competitive bids and proposals for law enforcement and public-safety equipment. This position works closely with sales, vendors, and government agencies to ensure all responses are accurate, compliant, and submitted on time. Join a team of 700+ professionals dedicated to supporting those who protect our communities.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and review bid opportunities from federal, state, and local government agenciesPrepare complete bid and proposal packages, including pricing, product specifications, compliance documents, and required formsCoordinate with manufacturers and distributors to obtain accurate cost, delivery, and technical informationEnsure all submissions comply with RFP/IFB requirements, contract terms, and agency policiesMaintain a database of contracts, pricing schedules, certifications, and product documentationCommunicate with procurement officials to clarify specifications and respond to questionsAssist sales staff with contract utilization, quotes, and agency purchasing proceduresTrack award results and maintain records for audits and renewalsMonitor cooperative purchasing contracts and state term schedulesSupport post-award activities such as contract execution, reporting, and price updatesBenefits & CompensationDana Safety Supply offers a competitive compensation package and a comprehensive benefits suite, including:• Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance• 401(k) Roth Retirement Plans• Flexible Spending Account (FSA)• Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paternity Leave• Employee Rewards & Recognition program.RequirementsExperience with government bidding, procurement, or contracts administrationKnowledge of law enforcement, emergency vehicle, or tactical equipment productsStrong written communication and document preparation skillsHigh attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlinesProficiency with Microsoft Office and bid management systemsAbility to read and interpret technical specifications and drawingsProfessional interaction with vendors, manufacturers, and government customersPreferred QualificationsPrior experience working for a law enforcement equipment dealer or manufacturerFamiliarity with GSA, state term contracts, and cooperative purchasing programsUnderstanding of emergency vehicle upfitting, lighting, communications, or duty gearExperience with ERP/CRM systems and cost-analysis pricingWork EnvironmentOffice-based with occasional travel to vendor meetings or customer pre-bid conferencesFast-paced environment with multiple concurrent deadlinesCollaboration with sales, operations, and technical staff
